Chemical Peels
Single Session: £70 | 2-Month Course (4 Sessions): £250
A chemical peel is a targeted clinical treatment in which a carefully selected medical-grade acidic solution is applied to the skin to exfoliate the outer layers and accelerate the natural cell turnover process. This controlled exfoliation removes damaged, pigmented, and congested surface cells, revealing fresher, healthier skin beneath.
Each session involves a double cleanse, light extractions, your customised chemical peel, a cooling face mask, moisturiser, SPF, and a finishing lip mask.
Chemical peels are highly effective at addressing a wide range of skin concerns, including hyperpigmentation, post-acne marks, sun damage, fine lines, and uneven texture. At SKIN CARD Clinic, every peel is bespoke — the acid type and strength are selected specifically for your skin condition and goals, ensuring both safety and measurable results.
While a single peel provides an instant boost in clarity, we recommend a structured course for long-term skin transformation. Because every client’s skin reacts differently, we often advise combining your peels with LED Light Therapy or a targeted dermaplaning session to maximize product absorption and accelerate the healing of pigmented areas.
Pre-Care Instructions
To prepare your skin and ensure the safest, most effective treatment possible, please follow these guidelines before your appointment:
- 7 Days Before: Discontinue the use of any strong active ingredients and exfoliating products, including Retinol (Vitamin A), AHAs (e.g. Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid etc...), and BHAs (Salicylic Acid), as these can increase skin sensitivity and the risk of over-exfoliation.
Avoid unprotected sun exposure and sunbeds. Treating sun-damaged or sunburned skin significantly increases the risk of adverse reactions. - 14 Days Before: Do not undergo any facial waxing, threading, dermaplaning, or laser hair removal in the treatment area.
- Please Inform Us: Let us know if you have a history of cold sores, are currently taking or have recently taken Roaccutane (isotretinoin), or are using any prescription topical medications.
- On the Day: Please arrive with a clean face, free of makeup, SPF, and skincare products.
After-Care Protocols
Post-peel aftercare is essential for protecting your skin and allowing the renewal process to complete effectively. Please follow these instructions carefully:
- The First 24 Hours: Do not apply makeup, active skincare products, or anything other than a plain, fragrance-free moisturiser. Keep the skin cool and avoid touching your face.
- The First 48 Hours: Avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers. Heat and sweat can cause irritation and increase sensitivity on freshly treated skin.
- Days 3–7: If your skin begins to peel or flake, this is a normal part of the process. Cleanse gently with a non-foaming cleanser and keep the skin hydrated with a gentle moisturiser. Do not pick, peel, or scratch the skin under any circumstances.
- SPF is Non-Negotiable: You must apply a high-quality SPF 50 every morning for a minimum of two weeks post-treatment. Your skin will be highly sensitive to UV radiation during this period, and unprotected sun exposure can cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Reintroducing Actives: Do not reintroduce retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or vitamin C products until the skin has fully settled — typically 7 to 10 days post-treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions will I need to see results?
A single session will deliver an immediate improvement in brightness and skin clarity. However, for deeper concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and significant textural irregularities, a course of treatments is required. Our 2-month course is designed to deliver cumulative, measurable results by allowing each peel to build on the cellular renewal triggered by the last.
Will my skin peel after the treatment?
Depending on the strength of the peel selected for your skin, you may experience peeling or flaking from around day 3 to day 7 post-treatment. This is a normal and expected part of the skin renewal process. It is essential that you do not pick or forcibly remove any peeling skin, as this can cause irritation and uneven results.
Is a chemical peel suitable for my skin type?
Chemical peels can be tailored to suit a wide range of skin types and concerns. Every treatment at SKIN CARD Clinic begins with a thorough skin analysis and consultation to ensure the correct acid type and strength is selected for your specific skin. We do not perform a one-size-fits-all peel — your treatment is always customised to your individual needs.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime depends on the strength of the peel applied. Lighter peels may cause minimal redness that resolves within a few hours. Deeper peels may result in visible peeling or flaking for 3 to 7 days. You will receive full aftercare guidance at every appointment, and we recommend planning your treatment ahead of any important events.
